City of Santa Fe — 4-Million-Gallon Water Storage Tank
City of Santa Fe · Santa Fe, NM
Demolition and replacement of an existing 4-million-gallon buried concrete water storage tank with a new post-tensioned, two-compartment concrete tank featuring access hatches and stairs. The project was necessitated by the failure of prior repairs, which were losing millions of gallons of potable water per year and had created an artificial wetland downstream. Ewan Young served as project manager and designer and led bidding, negotiation, and construction administration; the project also included decorative terraced retaining walls to bury the tank and upgrades to a below-ground valve vault with top access.
