Española Public Schools — Package Wastewater Treatment Plants
Española Public Schools District · Abiquiú, Chimayó, Española, Velarde & Hernández, NM
A series of package wastewater treatment plants designed, permitted, bid, and constructed for the Española Public Schools District — several addressing emergency failures of existing septic systems that threatened public health. Ewan Young managed design, NMED permitting, bidding, and construction administration, and the team provided two years of operations and maintenance for each system. Facilities included Abiquiú (6,000-gpd WesTech STM-Aerotor), Chimayó (9,000-gpd WesTech STM-Aerotor), Tony E. Quintana (6,000-gpd WesTech STM-Aerotor), Velarde (3,000-gpd Orenco® AX-100), and Hernández (6,000-gpd Orenco® AX-100).
